C.O.L. formed more than twenty years ago and is comprised of three sisters and six brothers, all of whom belong to the McKinney family of Pinson, Alabama. Both parents are musically gifted. As the children grew up, they developed their own individual interests for various instruments. Lorna is the lead singer. Ami is the background singer and choreographer. Christa plas the keyboard, is a background singer, and dances. Chris is a lead vocalist, background singer, guitarist, and plays the drums. Justin is a background singer, guitarist, and saxophonist. Joseph is a background singer and plays the drums. Brandon is a background singer and plays the horn. Twin sons, Arthur and Artis are also part of the McKinney family and part of C.O.L. but are presently inactive due to their jobs. This group has a unique musical style combining jazz, contemporary flavored, hip hop gospel with inspirational lyrics. The group has mastered singing six-part harmony, a difficult ability most groups have not developed. More than their sound, C.O.L. hopes to send an overall message to the youth that's it perfectly fine to love the Lord, and to be young and saved. The group travels and performs at standing room only events, leaving spirit-filled gospel music in the hearts of adoring listeners. One thing that's for sure, the Holy Spirit is certainly using the Children of Love to inspire people everywhere.
